VLS invests in electric vehicle maintenance training

Specialist training got underway this month to upskill VLS workshop fitters on the safe maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles.

All maintenance staff and contract managers will attend the three-day training course from the Institute of Motor Industries delivered at Gateshead College’s Automotive Skills Academy.

Dave Burn, operations director at VLS comments: “Market predictions forecast that 10% of all road-going vehicles will be electric or hybrid within the next 8 years and our customers have already signalled their intent to purchase electric vehicles in the future.

“This latest investment adds to the ongoing programme of training undertaken by all members of our workshop team to ensure skills are as up-to-date and relevant to our fleet as possible.”
